Mathieu Peteul

Born in 1980 in Strasbourg, France. However, Mathieu spent all his childhood in Brittany where he discovered at the age of 10 the practice of video through his father's camcorders. After graduating from a Parisian film school (ESRA, class of 2001), he quickly became fascinated by the film medium and its digital transcription. He will make it his speciality. Notable works: ULTIMATE SUPER 8 (2007) is a short film made in Switzerland which follows the wanderings of an amateur filmmaker. The film, fluctuating between documentary and fiction with a mise en abyme of the cinematographic process, was acclaimed at the 16th Woods Hole Film Festival upon its release. In 2020, it was restored in a 2K master and selected again in festivals. DARK SOULS, MØRKE SJELER (2010) is a feature film produced and directed in collaboration with César Ducasse. RUINES DU TEMPS (2015) was shot in a valley where the most beautiful Breton river flows. This experimental 16mm film shows a dizzying dive into the female subconscious and was selected in most experimental festivals (Fargo, Amarcort, Columbus). It is now available on the platform created by Alex Proyas: VIDIVERSE. RONDE DE JOUR (2018) is a film commissioned by the artist André Dussoix for his contemporary art exhibition at the castle of Oron, in Switzerland.
