Born in South Africa and raised in Sydney, Australia, Marc's career began soon after graduating from the UNSW College of Fine Arts with a slew of shorts, ARIA nominated music videos and PSA's under his belt. In 2006, Marc's Screen-Australia-financed short Death's Requiem screened at over 20 International Film Festivals scooping awards at St. Kilda, Method Fest, Eerie Horror Film Festival and Shriekfest. In 2009, Marc was awarded the Emerging Filmmakers Fund from Screen NSW for the 30-minute drama Dark Horse. The film went on to Showcase at over 25 international festivals and won awards at the Byron Bay International and St. Kilda Film Festivals.
Marc's commercial directing career has included major campaigns for Amnesty International, Sony, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Telstra and many more. He has directed major music videos for Warner, EMI, Universal and Sony for artists including Valentino Khan, Alison Wonderland, Rogue Traders, Timomatic, Charmes, Dead Letter Circus and Havana Brown. Marc has directed two episodes of the award-winning Event Zero series for Movie Extra and three episodes of the Screen Australia-funded sci-fi series Airlock for SyFy and Deadhouse Films. Terminus, Marc's first feature film as writer-director, was released worldwide by Vertical Entertainment in 2016. He was also a co-writer on the 2018 actioner In Like Flynn and the Netflix Original Sweet River. Marc is also an executive producer on the film Switzerland, directed by Anton Corbijn (Control, The American) starring Helen Mirren and produced by Gabriel Tana (Philomena, Thirteen Lives), Andrew Mason (The Matrix), Troy Lum (The Water Diviner) and Jim Robison for Filmnation Entertainment.
Marc's screenplay Harlem 58 was a finalist in the 2020 Final Draft Big Break Competition. Marc has sold his first TV-series pitch, The Coves, to Chris Hemsworth's Thematic Entertainment. His most recent short film A Perfect Circle picked up the Audience Award for Best Short at the 2020 Method Fest Film Festival and screened at Filmquest, Hollyshorts and the Barcelona Indie Filmmakers Festival. Marc is managed by Allard Cantor and Jarrod Murray at Epicenter.
