From the French West Indies and raised in Paris, Fabrice Pierre received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nicholls States University in Louisiana (USA). He then worked in several places and countries as an assistant director on audiovisual and film productions. After a few years back in Paris, he moved on to writing and directing films, commercials, music videos, and television programs. He wrote, shot, and directed his first short film, Tremens, and then a couple of years later "Le Gardien" (The Guardian), which won the HOHOA prize for best screenplay at the Cannes Critics' Week in 2004. This fantasy tale was presented at the 2006 Critics' Week and went on to win numerous awards at international festivals. In 2009, Éric BESNARD turned to Fabrice to direct the behind-the-scenes featurette for "In Gold, we trust", a feature film shot entirely in the Amazon rainforest. In early 2016, Fabrice wrote and directed his first English-language film, "Lost Souls". This award-winning third short film deals with depression and is set 90% in a London black cab. Between 2018 and 2020, he wrote and directed a documentary: "In the Heart of the Light" for France Television (58 minutes) and co-wrote a TV series called HAWA, a 10 x 55 minutes in collaboration with Hubert Koundé. Currently, Fabrice co-writes a TV series for young adults for a production company of the Mediawan Group and is set to direct TV series episodes while working on commercials and developing feature film projects.
